Poll: Should single-sex schools be phased out?

Have your say.

A REPORT HAS found that students in both mixed and single-sex secondary schools would prefer to be taught in a mixed setting.

New research by the ESRI found that 87% of students in co-educational schools preferred a mixed gender setting, with 63% of students in single-sex schools also preferring a gender mix.

Surveying over 2,200 students in 21 secondary schools, the report focused on “voluntary” secondary schools – those that were originally or are still under religious patronage, as opposed to community colleges.

So today we’re asking you: Should single-sex schools be phased out?

Poll Results:

Yes (6338)
No (3673)
Unsure (761)
