Sinead O’Connor to explore Irish reluctance to discuss sex

The singer is due to co-host 4FM’s Late Show this Wednesday evening.

SINEAD O’CONNOR is to co-host a late-night talkshow on Classic Hits 4FM to explore why men and women in Ireland seem reluctant to talk about sex.

4FM’s Late Show host Niall Boylan said that he’s looking forward to sharing the mic with the singer for Wednesday night’s show. He describes O’Connor, who recently took part in an impromptu Blind Date contest on the show, as good fun and a bit of a “live wire”.

During the interview, the singer spoke about her search for a “sweet-hearted, but filthy-minded” man.

On her blog and Twitter account, the singer recently announced she was searching for a “very sweet sex-starved man”. She subsequently declared the search was over, before writing: “Sadly the chosen winner of the quest for man has revealed pregnant girlfriend. Therefore the campaign is resumed for anyone who is interested in applying”.

She doesn’t want to be left with a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine in front of the TV for the rest of her life – she wants sex, Classic Hits 4FM’s Late Show host Niall Boylan told TheJournal.ie today.

He said O’Connor feels that “many Irish women have been repressed sexually, especially those over 40″, and is keen to discuss this issue on the show.

The show’s producer Niall O’Keeffe said the team is very much looking forward to O’Connor’s spot as a co-host.

“She’s just about as controversial and hungry for attention as Niall himself so it should be a bit of fun,” he said.

O’Connor is due to play the Electric Picnic’s main stage on Friday and says she is due to appear afterwards on RTÉ’s first Late Late Show of the new season.

The Late Show featuring Sinead O’Connor airs live at 9pm on Wednesday on Classic Hits 4FM.

Aontaím leat ‘s leis an Coiste Téarmaíochta gurbh álainn an aistriú sin; ach tá seans maith go mbeidh daoine ag gearán faoi an bhrídeach buile, agus iad measca leis an bhrídeach _atá ar_ bhuile agus cúis maith aicí?

@Darragh Henry: Not sure what you be up to, but yes, most people pop the bonnet of the car. Taking it off completed just seems like a lot of work.
