POSITIONED ON AN elevated site overlooking the River Slaney in Co Wexford, Slaney Manor is stately in every aspect.

Spanning 44 acres of grounds, Slaney Manor comprises a period mansion and a converted courtyard of outbuildings. Most notably, there’s also a castle, built on the site of the original 12th-century Kinsella Castle, which once stood on the same site.

In Slaney Manor House itself, the interior is as marvelous as you would expect, and is designed to maximise views of the nearby river. Believed to date from 1833, it’s a three-bay, three-storey over part-raised basement country house of 12,916 sq ft.

The house has been significantly restored by the current owners, while also maintaining many of its period features, including ornate fireplaces, decorative ceilings, panelled doors and picture rails.

The new-era Kinsella Castle sits across the estate, designed in a medieval style to accommodate weddings and events, and measuring 13,454 sq ft. There’s seating for up to 260 people, as well as a commercial kitchen and bathrooms, plus four bedroom suites on the first floor, including a bridal suite.

Stone walls, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, ceiling beams and wooden floors make it a beautiful party or wedding venue, should you wish to open your new home to guests.

With such an imposing location, it’s no surprise that Slaney Manor is rich in history. Also known as Barntown House, the estate was developed in the 17th century and is linked to the early 19th century heritage of Co Wexford.

Today, Wexford town is just a 10-minute drive from Slaney Manor Estate, while the nearby N11 means the journey to Dublin can take less than two hours.
