Father and son who died in Sligo house fire to be buried together

Tributes have been paid to both men online.

THE FATHER AND son who were killed in a weekend house fire in Sligo will be buried together tomorrow.

Christopher ‘Sunny’ Harte, in his 60s, and his son Sean, in his 30s, died early on Saturday morning after a fire gutted a building on Market Street in the town.

The two men were taken from the house and rushed to Sligo University Hospital where they were pronounced dead. Gardaí say that at present there is nothing to suggest anything suspicious about the fire. It is believed that the fire may have started in the vacant flat below.

The two men will repose at the family home in Sligo this evening before a funeral mass in Sligo Cathedral tomorrow.

Tributes have been paid to both men online.
