TWO MEN HAVE been arrested following an incident in which a man sustained serious facial injuries.
Gardaí said that they arrested the two males following an overnight incident in Sligo.
At approximately 3.30am today, gardaí were called to the scene of a disturbance at a house in Avondale, Sligo town.
A man in his 20s was injured during the incident and was taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital with serious facial injuries.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Two males aged in their early 20s were arrested in connection with the incident and are currently detained at Sligo Garda Station.
An examination of the scene is ongoing and investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
