Tributes paid to "a beautiful soul" after Sligo murder

A man was tasered as he was arrested.

A 33-YEAR-OLD man will appear before Sligo District Court today charged with the murder of a young woman.

The woman in her early 20s was found injured at a house on Mailcoach Road in the county yesterday morning. She was taken to Sligo Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

She has been named as 23-year-old Natalie McGuinness. Friends and family paid tribute to the young woman, with one describing her as a “bubbly beautiful young woman who lived life to the full”. Another called her a “beautiful soul”.

The man, who was armed with a knife, was tasered by members of the Regional Support Unit as he was arrested.
