Man dies after falling into slurry tank on Cork farm

Attempts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful.

A MAN HAS died after falling into a slurry tank on a farm in County Cork.

The accident happened yesterday at approximately 5.30pm in Kealkill near Bantry in west Cork.

It is believed the 37-year-old man was overcome by the fumes and fell into the tank.

Attempts were made to rescue the man from the tank, but when he was retrieved he could not be resuscitated.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place.

The Health and Safety Authority is investigating the incident.
