Small fire blamed on hot weather at Swords nightclub

A small blaze on the roof of The Wright Venue at the Airside Retail Park was brought quickly under control.

THE WRIGHT VENUE escaped serious damage after a small fire broke out on the roof of the nightclub yesterday afternoon.

Three units of Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene just after 2pm yesterday, a spokesperson told TheJournal.ie. The blaze was confined to the roof and the spokesperson says that no serious damage was reported.

Meanwhile a Wright Venue staff member told TheJournal.ie that there was no chatter about the fire among workers today, indicating that it was a minor incident.

The Swords venue did issue a tweet about the fire to reassure its patrons and local people though, blaming it on the warm weather!
