Anyone like a smartphone that can last for 10 days? Step right up

You may not have ever heard of Oukitel before, but its latest smartphone has one thing going for it.

SMARTPHONES USUALLY HAVE enough battery life to last an average day, but you would be lucky to squeeze out any more than that from it unless it’s a larger phone.

Oukitel isn’t exactly a household name, it’s one of the smaller smartphone manufacturers in China, but its latest smartphone has one thing going for it. That is a very long battery life.

Usually, smartphone batteries range from between 1,800mAh to 3,500mAh depending on the device but Oukitel claims that the K10000 will last for 10 to 15 days when fully charged.

Since it stores so much, it could also be used as a portable battery pack for other devices, claiming it can charge three iPhone 6s Plus devices and still have 10% of power left.

The device weighs 184 grams, which is a little bit lighter than an iPhone 6s Plus, and runs Android 5.1.

The catch is the hardware running it is pretty modest. It has a 720p 5.5-inch screen, a quad-core 1GHz MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and an 8MP and 2MP rear and front end camera respectively. Components that would be friendly to a phone’s battery life.

The device itself costs $239 (€217) but even with import charges and having to wait another month before its release, it could be the closest you’ll get to the heyday of the Nokia 3210 and its long-lasting battery.
