NATIONWIDE

FAI Summer Soccer School: Have a World Cup obsessive in your house? Let them live out their dream of being the next Kylian Mbappé with a week of soccer coaching from FAI accredited trainers, running nationwide all summer. These camps have been running for 22 years, with graduates including Shane Long, John O’Shea and Katie McCabe.

Kellogg’s Cúl Camp: The biggest summer camp of all, with 127,000 children taking part every year, this GAA camp is one of the best. The focus is on fun as well as learning the skills of the game and each kid gets a jersey and a school bag at the end of the week.

Suits: 6-13 years old. Where: Nationwide Cost: €60 for the first child, €50 for the second and €40 for the third. Find out more here.

Athletics Ireland: Would-be Olympians will adore the nationwide Athletics Ireland summer camps where children will get to take part in sprints, javelin, hurdles, shot put and relay races. Every kid will take home a t-shirt, water bottle and a backpack at the end of the week.

CORK

Oysterhaven Sailing Camps: With five full days on the water, your clan will be addicted by the end. Oysterhaven camps run every week between now and the end of August, with a choice of sailing, windsurfing or a mix, at a dedicated activity centre five miles outside Kinsale and a 35 minute drive from Cork city.

Suits: Range of age options (4-5, 6, 7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-17). Where: Oysterhaven Activity Centre, Cork. Cost: From €220 a week. Find out more here.

DUBLIN

Gymnastics and Trampolining: Run by Grange Gymnastics coaches on Olympic-level equipment, these five-day camps are a great way to inspire newbies or develop skills further. Choose from Recreational Gymnastics, Development Gymnastics, Trampolining or – for older kids – Teen Tumbling for 11 years and up. Open to members and non-members alike.

GALWAY

Street Dance Summer Camp: Get moving and learn a new skill too, with Raven Dance Studio’s street dance camps, led by multiple hip-hop world champion Monika Bielecka. Choose from five days of hip hop, afro house, break dancing and others, with classes each evening.
