Poll: Do you think staffless libraries are a good idea?

Dublin City Councillors voted against the introduction of the service this week.

TWENTY THREE LIBRARY branches will be offering Open Library services from next year, meaning libraries will stay open and operate without staff during the evenings and weekends.

Some librarians are concerned that this “is the beginning of the end for Public Library Service”.

The government says the Open Library initiative will not mean the closure of library branches or a reduction in staffing levels or staffed hours.

Dublin City Councillors voted against the introduction of the service this week.

So today we’re asking, do you think staffless libraries are a good idea?

Poll Results:

No (6573)
Yes (1504)
I don't know (350)
