WITH THE SUMMER months well and truly behind us, now is the perfect time to get cosy in front of the TV.
From sci-fi to horror to comedy, there is no shortage of exclusive series to enjoy on Star on Disney+, with even more exciting new releases coming this autumn.
So, what should you watch for your next date night or relaxing evening in? Read on to learn about six big releases coming to the streaming service in the weeks ahead…
Fans of sci-fi comics are sure to be familiar with Y: The Last Man, the critically acclaimed 60-issue DC Comics series by Brian K Vaughan and Pia Guerra. The comics come to life for this new release on Disney+, set in a post-apocalyptic world following a catastrophic event in which every mammal with a Y chromosome was decimated… except for one cisgender man (Ben Schnetzer as Yorick Brown) and his pet monkey, Ampersand.
The series follows the survivors in this new world as they team up with a protector named Agent 355 and set out on a daunting journey to uncover the truth behind the male genocide.
Y: The Last Man is streaming from 22 September.
Fans of The Walking Dead can stop holding their breath as the eleventh and final season of the show is now streaming exclusively on Star on Disney+. Twenty-four episodes of the post-apocalyptic horror series will be released over the next year as the hit show comes to a close.
Previously on The Walking Dead, the survivors confronted past demons and combated new threats, with friendships and relationships suffering from the mounting collateral damage that is the apocalypse.
Alexandria is severely compromised, left a former shell of the home it once was from the carnage and devastation left behind by the Whisperers. Now all who live in Alexandria struggle to refortify it and feed its increasing number of residents, including the arrival of the Commonwealth community.

With a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Only Murders in the Building has made quite an impression since it landed. The 10-part series follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one when a death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building.
The trio suspect murder and begin to investigate, recording a podcast to document the case. This leads the three to unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years – and realise a killer might be living amongst them.

A re-imagining of the 1898 novel The War of the Worlds by HG Wells, this TV series stars Gabriel Byrne and Normal People’s Daisy Edgar Jones as Bill Ward and Emily Gresham as they come to terms with life on earth following a fatal alien invasion.

A spin-off of the award-winning American Horror Story series, this original new weekly series will feature a different self-contained horror story each episode. The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, and includes cast members from the original show.

A Star Original movie, this ‘raw and raunchy’ comedy sees strait-laced couple Marcus and Emily befriend party-loving husband Ron and wife Kayla while on vacation in Mexico, resulting in a week of uninhibited fun that unexpectedly follows them home when Ron and Kayla show up to their wedding.

I hope the Gardai are closer to charging someone. This investigation went very quiet so hopefully that means they’ve pieced the puzzle together and now have the evidence to get justice.
As this is an ongoing investigation I think disabling comments on this article might be best. As great as it is that progress seem to be happening there just might be a chance of a few things being said that hinders this progress. Just a suggestion

Why, oh why can you not refer to the boy by his first name in this- and other sad tragedies. He is Cameron.
Horrendous crime – hopefully proper justice is served.
Why refer to the victim as a boy or teenager and the person bein questioned a man, when they are both the same age.

@Escay: not he wasn’t. Cameron Reilly was 18 when he was murdered.
