Which star sign is most likely to attract penalty points?

It’s Sunday and AA Ireland’s tongue is firmly in its cheek with this analysis.

IT’S SUNDAY AFTERNOON and AA Ireland has decided to get creative with penalty points.

They’ve released a tongue-in-cheek ranking, based on 110,000 motor insurance customers, of the most and least likely star signs to get penalty points.

Those born between October 23 and November 21 are getting stung with points in Irish roads, it seems. Scorpios – typically regarded as the most passionate of the Zodiac signs – are right up there at the top followed by spontaneous and adventerous Saggittarians.

Stubborn perfectionist Taureans are seemingly living up to their name and are attracting the least penalty points of all other star sights. Those calm, balanced Libras are also behaving themselves on the roads.

“To be fair the differences were small and are not significant enough statistically to attract insurance loadings,” Conor Faughnan, Director of Consumer Affairs at The AA said. “Feckless Scorpios need not fear an insurance price increase, unless of course they have a higher risk for other reasons”.

“While a motorist’s date of birth does come into play when calculating their motor insurance premium, their star sign does not. It has no part to play in magnetising penalty points, though it was a fun exercise and caused quite a stir in the office,” Faughan, an Aquarian, added.

Here’s the full ranking:
