Stolen JCB used in Kilkenny post office raid

The safe was stolen from Castlecomer Post Office this morning.

RAIDERS USED a stolen JCB to break into a post office in Co Kilkenny between 6am and 6.30am today.

The JCB was taken from Carlow and brought to the Castlecomer to break into the post office. A safe was stolen from the premises, but it is unclear how much money was taken. .

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses who saw the JCB being used in Castlecomer or being transported between Carlow and Castlecomer to come forward.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000 or on the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
