Poll: Which Irish sports star should we name our next storm after?

Storm Katie? Storm Conor?

MEMBERS OF THE public will be able to suggest names for North Atlantic storms under a new initiative launched by Met Éireann and the UK Met Office.

The two forecasting agencies hope that giving names to winter storms will lead to greater public awareness of severe weather – and that people will prepare for it appropriately.

We’re wondering – which Irish sports star would you like to see the first storm of the season named after? We’ve limited our choices here to four national sporting heroes – but if you’d like to propose another candidate by all means have your say in the comments section below!
