This is what happens when you stare at a stranger for five minutes

You don’t get attacked, you’re more likely to make a friend.

MOST PEOPLE AVOID eye contact with strangers for a number of reasons.

However, what would happen if you were made stare a stranger in the eyes for five full minutes?

Technology company Kovert Designs tested that question in this video and the results were surprising.

Kovert says:

‘I See You’, is a short film that explores the power of real human connection. As eye contact becomes a rare occurrence in the digital world we wanted to shed light on a culture starved of presence.
We watched 10 strangers make eye contact and silently acknowledge one another for 5 minutes. The result were uncontrollable; uncomfortable laughter, uncontrollable smiling, the pursing of lips, fidgeting of hands, tears.
