Shut it! 7 pieces of head-turning shop-shutter art around Dublin city

What goes up must come down.

UNLESS YOU HAPPEN to be passing by in the early morning or late at night, it can be rare to see businesses with their shutters down.

However, sometimes what’s on the shutters is more impressive than what’s behind the company’s window or door.

From Dublin sayings to a different take on the Poolbeg chimneys, we’ve rounded up seven piece of shutter art around the capital that are worth hunting out…

1. Take a stroll to Chameleon in Temple Bar to see this work of art by Kathrina Rupit.

2. Head to Craft & Co Barbershop on Thomas Street to see some phrases you might be familiar with, by Boombox Dublin.

3. Stop and stare in awe of this colourful design at The Icon Factory, Temple Bar.

4. Pay a visit to Fumbally Lane in The Liberties for an accurate depiction of how we feel every Monday morning.

5. While you’re in The Liberties, pop by MyMind on High Street to see a reminder we all need from time to time.

6. Another Liberties creation, this design by Dan Leo is at Pifko Bar on Usher’s Quay.

7. Stop outside Yamamori Tengu on Strand Street Great, Dublin 1 to see this piece by Ominous Omin
