Riders stuck on rollercoaster 75ft off the ground for five hours

The incident happened at Six Flags just outside Washington.

A DAY OUT at a Six Flags theme park turned into an unforeseen drama when a rollercoaster got stuck.

24 people were on board The Joker’s Jinx – which can go 0 – 60 in three seconds – when the six train cars suddenly stopped.

ABC news reported that the rollercoaster was stuck around 75 feet from the ground during the ordeal at the park just outside Washington.

When rescuers got to them three-and-a-half hours after the rollercoaster stopped, the unlucky riders were given food, water, and umbrellas to shield them from the sun.

Tweeting from the scene was Marc Bashoor, Fire Chief with the emergency services.
