Police release picture of suspect in murder of British man and disappearance of wife

Ali Qazimaj was last seen on Friday.

POLICE IN SUFFOLK in England have released a photo of a man they suspect in the murder of a man and the disappearance of a woman.

The body of Peter Stuart was found last Friday with multiple stab wounds. His wife Sylvia was nowhere to be found.

A 61-year-old man remains in custody in connection with the murder and disappearance.

Police have today also made appeals to trace Ali Qazimaj, a 42-year-old man who has been living in the Thurrock area of Essex. Work carried out yesterday identified him as being “a key person that officers need to speak to in connection with the enquiry”.

Qazimaj is described as white, around 5ft 6ins tall, with brown eyes and dark brown greying hair. He was last seen on Friday in the Thurrock area of Essex.

Police searched his home address yesterday evening looking for him and Sylvia Stuart, and remain at the location.

His car was found in Kent late last night, but the public is being warned not to approach him.

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Parkes said; “Our priority remains locating Sylvia and we are continuing to conduct searches in Weybread as well as making further enquiries.

“While our hopes for Sylvia’s safety are reducing with the passage of time, there remains the possibility that she is still alive.”
