Suspect arrested as Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport evacuated in bomb threat

An airport spokesman said two departure halls have been evacuated after a threat received earlier this morning.

DUTCH POLICE have arrested a man after parts of Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport were evacuated earlier this morning following a bomb threat.

An airport spokesman said two departure halls have been evacuated, and police are investigating the threat which was received earlier this morning.

A statement posted on the airport’s website said a suspect had been arrested, and that the security alert was continuing.

The areas remain sealed off while the Royal Military Police examine the scene.

A significant number of inbound flights have been delayed, while a smaller number of outbound flights have also been affected.
