Man arrested in connection with suspicious apartment complex blaze

The fire occurred shortly before 9pm last night in Mallow.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING a suspicious blaze in Cork have arrested a 41-year-old man.

The man is expected to appear before Fermoy District Court tomorrow morning charged in connection with the incident.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the fire in Mallow shortly before 9pm last night.

No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred in an apartment at Granary Court, and it was quickly brought under control.

The complex was evacuated during the incident.

The man was arrested this afternoon and detained at Mallow Garda Station.
