The post says simply that the bar will be closing in the future.

It goes on to say that to celebrate “the end of the world as we know it” the venue will be hosting some of the best acts that have played there over the years.

A spokesperson for Sweeney’s could not be immediately reached for comment.

However, a brochure listing for the bar is available for viewing on the commercial property website cbre.ie.

The brochure states that the entire premises is for sale by private treaty.

That listing states that the property will become fully available when the business closes in June 2016.

The premises is currently being operated under a short-term tenancy agreement and will be sold once this expires in June.

Sweeney’s is situated on Dame Street and backs onto Dame Lane – a popular strip of bars and venues.
