Gardaí anxious to speak to taxi drivers over Swords murder

The man received medical care at the scene but was pronounced dead from his injuries.

GARDAÍ IN SWORDS, County Dublin are renewing their appeal for information into the murder of a 56-year-old man on Sunday, 16 July.

Gardaí were called to the scene at North Street in Swords at about 3.05am last Sunday where they found a man with serious injuries.

The man received medical care at the scene but was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Investigating Gardaí are particularly anxious to speak to two separate taxi drivers.

One taxi picked up a fare at Swords Manor at around 12.50am on the morning of the 16 July, the fare included two males and two females. They were dropped on North Street, Swords a short time later. One of the male passengers was carrying a large, dark coloured sports bag.

The second taxi picked up a male passenger on Main Street, Swords around two hours later at 2.55am. This man was in possession of a large coloured sports bag.

Gardaí would also like to speak to three men who were walking from North Street towards Main Street at 2.50am.
