1. #LONG WEEKEND: Members of the Dáil have voted today to give themselves next Tuesday off on foot of a proposal introduced by the Tanáiste. A government statement said the cabinet is scheduled to meet on Monday and Tuesday.

2. #HEALTH: Pro-biotic drinks are facing a European ban unless they change their advertising approach, according to the European Food Safety Authority. Scientists working for the EFSA found no proof of the health benefits claimed by the pro-biotic drink producers.

3. #HOLLAND: Two Dutch men have been convicted of the manslaughter of Irishman Niall Coyle, 33, in Dordrecht, Holland, in January. The court heard that Coyle was kicked and assaulted as he lay unconscious on the ground. They were sentenced to eight and nine years in prison.

4. #TOYOTA: Major car manufacturer Toyota has issued a global recall for around 1.5m vehicles over brake fuel leak and fuel pump concerns. Lexus is recalling over 900 cars in Ireland as a result, and says customers affected by the recall will be notified by post.

5. #RIVALS: It might not be music to Jonny Sexton’s ears, but Ronan O’Gara says he’s sticking around and is hungry again for wearing the Irish No 10 jersey.
