A SECOND PERSON has been arrested in connection with a fatal assault that took place in Tallaght, Dublin yesterday.

A man in his 20s died and another man in his 30s was arrested following the assault in the Dublin suburb in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A woman in her 30s has been arrested today for alleged offences in connection with this investigation and is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Dublin Garda Station, a Garda spokesperson said.

The man arrested yesterday remains in Garda custody. He will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice later this afternoon.

A post-mortem examination of the deceased was completed yesterday, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons, gardaí said in a statement, adding that investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward, particularly those who were in the Drumcairn Estate area of Tallaght between 3am and 4am on Friday.

Additionally, individuals with video recordings, including motorists with dash cam footage, from the area within the timeframe are asked to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
