THE TALLAGHT BYPASS has re-opened following a period of closure after a pedestrian was struck by a car last night.

The male pedestrian was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, and his injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.

A section of the N81 in Tallaght was closed as gardaí conducted a technical examination of the scene.

Diversions were in place at the junctions of N81-Fortunestown Road and N81-Citywest Road, and motorists were advised to expect delays.

However, a garda spokesperson said the road re-opened at around 8.35am this morning.
