Driver flees on foot after striking and killing man in Tallaght

A MAN IN his 30s has died following a hit-and-run incident in Tallaght.

The incident happened at about 7pm this evening at Brookview Close in the west Dublin suburb.

The man was struck by a car, the driver of which subsequently fled the scene on foot.

The road is currently closed pending a Garda forensic collision examination. The coroner has likewise been notified.

No arrests have yet been made.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact them at Tallaght Garda Station on 01 6666000, on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111, or at any Garda station.
