The latest figures from Daft.ie.

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a property in Tallaght is roughly €234,000, according to the latest figures.

A Daft.ie analysis of list prices across all properties in the area in the third quarter of 2017 puts the average at €233,593.

Although Tallaght is a large area and prices vary widely, this overall average would make it one of the most affordable areas anywhere in the capital. Prices in Tallaght are roughly 40 per cent below the all-capital average of just under €395,000.

Of 117 neighbourhoods analysed, only seven have a lower price profile. (The cheapest is Park West/Fox and Geese, where prices are at just over €185,000.)

However, the value of property in Tallaght is rising rapidly in line with the overall trend. Prices have increased by almost 64% since the lowest point in 2012, when they dipped to  €142,600.

During the last boom, average asking prices in Tallaght peaked at €362,500.
