Taoiseach announces new American-Irish partnership

i360medical and the Cleveland Clinic and its Innovation Alliance have joined forces after being introduced by Enterprise Ireland.

ENDA KENNY IS promoting Ireland in the US today and has just announced a new partnership between an Irish firm and an American group.

Domestic company i360medical has formed a strategic partnership with the Cleveland Clinic which will see it representing the European wing of its Innovation Alliance programme.

The Taoiseach described the move as significant because it “establishes an innovation pathway between Europe and the US”.

i360medical was initially set up under the guidance of the RCSI where it operated for four years as the Centre for Innovation in Surgical Technology (CIST). It now drives collaboration across clinicians, mutlinationals , SMEs and universities.

The partnership comes following introductions brokered by Enterprise Ireland, explained Kenny.

i360medical will appoint a Cleveland Clinic representative onto its board of directors, as well as its commercial and clinical advisory boards. In addition, the Clinic will make a financial investment in i360medical – the first time that it has venture invested in an enterprise outside of the US.

Earlier today, Kenny officially opened the Philadephia office of Zenith Technologies, which has its headquarters in Ireland.
