Teen arrested after three youths robbed at knifepoint

A knife and cash were recovered by gardaí investigating the incident.

AN 18-YEAR-old was arrested by gardaí after three teens were robbed and threatened in Shannon.

Gardaí at Shannon arrested the youth after the teenagers were robbed at Drumgeely, Shannon yesterday.

The incident occurred at 7.30pm when the male, armed with a knife, threatened the youths and stole a small amount of cash from them.

No-one was injured in the incident.

The 18-year-old was arrested a short time later in the area, and gardaí also recovered a knife and cash.

He was detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Shannon Garda Station and released later without charge. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
