Teenage boy (14) dies following quad bike crash in Co Derry

The crash happened on the Ballygudden Road outside Eglinton village on Tuesday morning.

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has died following a quad bike crash in Co Derry.

Isaac Roxborough was fatally injured in the single-vehicle collision on the Ballygudden Road outside Eglinton village on Tuesday morning.

The teenager, from Burnfoot in Dungiven, died in hospital today. The red Honda quad bike he was riding was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Inspector Cherith Adair from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family at this incredibly sad time, Isaac was just 14 years old.”

Adair said officers are conducting a “meticulous investigation” to establish the circumstances of the crash.

She asked anyone who noticed the quad on the Ballygudden Road shortly before 11.30am on Tuesday morning, or anyone who witnessed the collision, to contact the PSNI on 101 quoting 675 25/06/24 with any information or dash-cam footage.
