Teenage boy hospitalised after Co Clare swimming accident

The 17-year-old suffered head injuries after diving from the pier in Kilkee.

A TEENAGE BOY has been hospitalised after sustaining head injuries while while swimming off the Co Clare coast.

The 17-year-old was injured while diving from the pier at Kilkee, Valentia Coast Guard said.

The Kilkee Marine Rescue Service and local unit of the Irish Coast Guard attended the scene, from which the injured boy was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Galway.
