Teenager arrested over Temple Bar assaults

Four people were injured, two seriously, in the attacks by a gang of men late at night.

AN EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD man is to appear in court today over a series of late-night assaults in Dublin’s Temple Bar.

The teenager was arrested this morning. At least four people were attacked in the incidents, which took place in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, October 10 last year. Two males and one female were assaulted on Eustace Street at around 3.30am, and a short time later another male was attacked on nearby Curved Street. Two of the males suffered serious injuries, while the other male and female were also injured.

It’s thought a gang of up to four men were involved in the attacks. All four were described by gardaí as black and in their late teens to early 20s; one was wearing a red jacket, while another had a waistcoat-type top over a white t-shirt. They are believed to have come from the direction of Sycamore Street before fleeing towards Dame Street and Grafton street.

Gardaí believe a fifth person, also male, may also have been attacked the same night and are appealing for him to contact them.

Anyone who was in the area between 3am and 4am is asked to contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

im going to make 2 assumptions here, once is that the victims are white and 2 is that the gardai are not following a racially motivated angle on this one.

if that is the case, can anyone explain why that would be the case? if it is not the case please accept my apologies and disregard.

People who go around attacking anyone verbally or physically are not to be tolerated I don’t think this is a race issue it’s just a bad attitude to other people issue.
