Teenager in court over Mullingar assault

A second man arrested in connection with the incident has been released without charge.

A MAN IN his late teens will appear at Cavan District Court later today charged in relation to a serious assault.

The attack occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning in Mullingar.

A second man, 23, who had been detained in relation to the incident has been released without charge.

A man in his late 40s was injured on Oliver Plunkett Street at about 12.45am on 14 August. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital. The Irish Examiner reported yesterday that he sustained head injuries after being punched and falling back onto the pavement.
