The incident happened yesterday evening in the Falls Park area of west Belfast when a female PSNI officer was assaulted and sustained severe facial injuries.

A 17-year-old has since been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow.
