Update: Man hospitalised after shooting in Dublin

The male victim, 20, was shot in the Moorefield Avenue area of Dublin this evening.

Updated 9.37pm to clarify age of victim

A MAN HAS been hospitalised after being shot while in the Ronanstown area of Dublin this evening.

The male victim, 20, was shot a number if times during the incident at Moorefield Avenue, Dublin 22, according to gardaí.

He was taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital.

Gardai are at the scene which is preserved pending a full technical and forensic examination.

Gardai at Ronanstown are investigating all of the circumstances of the incident and ask anyone with information to contact Ronanstown Garda Station 01-6667700, or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
