Teenagers arrested after gardaí on routine patrol seize gun and iron bar

Gardaí patrolling the area made the discovery after a group of men fled the scene.

TWO TEENAGERS HAVE been arrested after gardaí on a routine patrol in Limerick seized a gun, an iron bar, and a baseball bat.

The gardaí discovered the weapons after a group of men fled as the gardaí walked down McDonough Avenue in the Janesboro area of Limerick on Friday afternoon.

The gardaí also seized a round of ammunition and a number of other unspecified items.

The two men, both aged in their late teens, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The two are being held at Roxboro Road Garda Station where they can be detained for up to 72 hours.

The investigation is ongoing.
