A TEENAGER has died after collapsing during a GAA game in Co Down.

Patrick Dinsmore was attended to on the scene by a doctor and nurse who were attending the game. They tried to save his life for 35 minutes, and at one point used a defibrillator to try to resuscitate him, but he passed away.

Patrick would have turned 17th tomorrow.

He had been playing for St Peter’s, Warrenpoint, against neighbours St Bronagh’s when he collapsed on the pitch.

Croke Park, SDLP councillor Michael Carr said: “This really is a devastating, utterly devastating, death of a fine young man,” and added that it was “Every parent’s worst nightmare.”
