1.#DART: Rail passengers face disruption as Dart and Intercity services between Greystones and Bray are closed after a train derailed. Nobody was injured in the late-night derailment, but the line remains closed.

2.#GARTH: The refund process for the cancelled Garth Brooks gigs will be announced today. The five gigs were officially cancelled yesterday and promoter Peter Aiken said he was “shellshocked”.

3.#RESHUFFLE: Today is likely to be the day for prospective ministers as the cabinet reshuffle is expected to be announced this afternoon.

4.#ISRAEL: Israel has upped its offensive against Gaza. Air strikes have left 28 people dead.

5.#SYMPHYSIOTOMY: An elderly woman has asked for an early trial date so she can bring a case against the National Maternity Hospital. Noreen Burns, 83, underwent a symphysiotomy in 1959.

6.#TRANSPLANT: A Dublin girl has become the first child to benefit from a new kidney transplant technique. 14-year-old Megan Carter underwent the life-saving procedure in London.

7.#NIGHT-MAYOR: Dubliners who want a directly-elected mayor will have to wait until 2019 for a public vote on the issue. At the minimum, a plebiscite on the issue is two years away.

8.#MORTGAGES: Political figures have reacted to the Finance Committee’s mortgage arrears report, with many hitting out at so-called sustainable solutions.

9.#GRAND DESIGN: The Bord Gais Energy Theatre has been put up for sale by receivers Grant Thornton.
