Poll: Should Ireland ban fossil fuel advertising?

UN Secretary General António Guterres has called for such a ban.

IS IT TIME for a tobacco-style advertising ban on fossil fuel products?

UN Secretary General António Guterres yesterday urged “every country” to adopt a ban on fossil fuel advertisements, saying that oil and gas corporations are the “godfathers of climate chaos”.

In March of this year, People Before Profit tabled a bill that would prohibit the advertisement of “fossil fuels, fossil fuelled vehicles or flights involving fossil-fuelled aircraft”. The bill, which would also prohibit the sponsorship by fossil fuel companies, is currently in the pre-committee stage.

Today we want to know… Do you think Ireland should ban the advertisement of fossil fuels and vehicles powered by fossil fuels?

Poll Results:

Yes, I support a full ban (2424)
No, I think a ban is a bad idea (2142)
I support a partial ban (536)
