The most borrowed book from Dublin libraries this month...

It was picked for the Dublin: One City Book choice to mark the centenary of the 1913 Dublin Lockout.

THE DUBLIN: ONE City Book choice Strumpet City is the most borrowed book in Dublin libraries this month.

So much so, all copies of James Plunkett’s book, chosen to mark the centenary of the 1913 Dublin Lockout, are out on loan at the moment.

It was also the top seller in original fiction in Ireland last week with over 4,000 copies sold so far this month.

“It has been a huge and welcome success for booksellers and has seen a new generation of readers discover Plunkett’s epic work,” says Bob Johnston, Chairperson of the Booksellers Association Irish Branch.

The book has also been the most popular choice in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown libraries this month as several scenes take place in the area.
