The secret's out: Mary O'Rourke claims vote was 2-1 to Cowen

But Mary O’Rourke was disappointed by the lack of “blood and thunder” in last night’s proceedings.

FIANNA FAIL TD Mary O’Rourke has revealed the “secret” results of last night’s ballot, tweeting this morning that Cowen won the vote by a margin of 2-1.

She also revealed that she was disappointed with how proceedings played out, adding:

Best speeches of the night (apart from the main players) without a doubt were Noel Treacy TD and Michael Mulcahy TD.

All very polite and would have preferred a bit of blood and thunder myself… this politeness won’t last!

The Longford/Westmeath TD has previously used her Twitter page to call for an election, saying:

Hey Brian, Will you please name the date. We are tired waiting.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio Two this morning, she said she loved Twitter “because I love to talk…but I have to be disciplined in what I say” – and admission which might comes as news to her followers on the social networking site.
