Cork comedy The Young Offenders is being made into a six-part series for the BBC

Jock and Conor are BACK.

BRILLIANT CORK COMEDY the Young Offenders won rave reviews when it hit Irish cinemas last year, and built on that momentum when it was released internationally later in 2016.

Now, in excellent news for fans of Conor and Jock’s shenanigans in the movie, it’s been commissioned by BBC Three – in association with RTÉ – as a six-part comedy series.

The press release announcing the news today confirmed that the cast will return exactly as featured in the movie:

The characters will now make a move to television screens to bring viewers the continuing misadventures of loveable rogues Conor MacSweeney and Jock O’Keeffe, played by newcomers Alex Murphy and Chris Walley respectively, along with Conor’s long-suffering mother Mairead MacSweeney played by Hilary Rose. All three actors received Irish Film and Television Academy award nominations for their performances in the film.
Many other familiar faces from the film will also feature in the TV series and will once again film in Cork, Ireland.

Jock and Conor’s odyssey on their stolen bikes has been one of the most popular Irish films in years – debuting on Netflix here in January
