Three to refund thousands of customers who were double-charged today

THOUSANDS OF THREE customers were double-charged today due to a technical error.

Some 8,000 customers who pay via direct debit were affected.

In a statement, the mobile phone company said: “We have notified all affected customers and are working with our bank to resolve the issue.

“All impacted customers will be refunded. We would like to apologise to the customers affected and can assure them that we are working hard to rectify the problem as quickly as we can.”

Three has about two million customers in Ireland. It took over the 02 network in 2015.
