Three fire units attending ESB station blaze

Firefighters are still working to extinguish a fire that broke out in the early hours of this morning at the old ESB generating station.

THREE UNITS OF the Dublin Fire Brigade are attending the scene at the old ESB generating station, where a fire broke out in the early hours of this morning.

The emergency services were alerted to a fire in the switch room at the building on Pigeon House Road shortly before 3am today.

It is understood, the building in which the fire broke out is unoccupied but staff at an adjoining building had to be evacuated.

A spokesperson for the Dublin Fire Brigade said the fire was still being attended to by firefighters from three units, and three district officers were still at the scene.
