Three gardaí injured in Ballyfermot disturbance

The officers were taken to hospital after the incident last night, during which a garda car was also rammed.

THREE GARDAÍ WERE hospitalised and a patrol car was rammed in west Dublin last night as officers tried to stop a vehicle.

The incident unfolded at around 11.40pm as gardaí attempted to stop a 4×4 in the Blackditch Road area of Ballyfermot. It’s understood that vehicle rammed a marked patrol car with two officers inside.

It is believed that as gardaí arrested the driver, a second 4×4 also became involved.

Three gardaí were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but were later discharged.

The drivers of both vehicles were arrested. One is being held at Ballyfermot garda station, the other at Clondalkin.
