Three in court over cannabis growing facility

Gardaí in Co Kilkenny discovered the facility and cannabis plants at various stages of growth on Wednesday.

THREE MEN HAVE been arrested and charged following the discovery of a cannabis growing facility in Co Kilkenny.

Gardaí carried out a search at a house in Freshford on Wednesday during which a cannabis cultivation facility with watering, lighting and heating systems was found.

Cannabis plants at various stages of development were found with a potential street value of €80,000, according to gardaí.

Three men aged 46, 49 and 53 were arrested in connection with the discovery and held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. They were held at Tramore and Waterford Garda Stations and appeared before a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court this afternoon.
