Three men arrested over robberies in three different counties

THREE MEN HAVE been arrested following a number of offences in Meath, Westmeath and Offaly.

The arrests, which were made in different locations, are part of Operation Thor.

A man in his late 30s is being held in Mullingar Garda Station for a number of offences that happened in the town yesterday.

They include the robbery of a taxi man, the attempted hijacking of a car, the robbery of a handbag and the robbery of a pharmacy where staff were threatened.

Another man in his late 30s was arrested after the theft of a handbag and keys of a car near Birr, Co Offaly.

The car crashed and a man was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at Birr Garda Station.

The third man, aged 40, is being held at Ashbourne Garda Station in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Dunboyne, Co Meath, on October 15.

Two men entered the shop, threatened staff and left the scene with a sum of money.
