Watch: A cruise ship being cut in half and extended by 30m (No, really!)

This timelapse explains it all.

YOU MIGHT HAVE thought that 163 metres was long enough for any man. But apparently not for the owners of the cruise liner Braemar who wanted it lengthened by 31.2 metres.

And they did it to0, by cutting it in half and sliding in a 19,089 tonne section at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Germany.

Still dumbfounded? Well watch this timelapse of the two month operation and come back to us, because you may be even more so afterwards. The crisp finished article is really quite something.
