The man is being held at Thurles Garda Station.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man in his 30s and seized drugs as part of an ongoing investigation in County Tipperary.

Heroine, amphetamine and cannabis with a combined estimated street value of €40,000 was seized when uniformed gardaí and members of the Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house in Thurles yesterday evening.

A man aged in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Thurles Garda Station, where he can be detained for up to seven days.

The investigation, which is targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Tipperary, is ongoing and gardaí say that further updates will follow.
